Using the SUNY Digital Repository: How, What, Why, and How Again

Abstract:

This panel will discuss a range of questions librarians are asking about the multiple facets of DSpace projects, as well as covering how to find useful materials in repositories to use in classes and at the reference desk. Questions to be addressed include: What types of materials are being archived and how can they be retrieved? What issues can libraries expect to encounter when they begin a new DSpace project? How are libraries dealing with the challenges of attracting projects and raising awareness on campus? What policies and workflows have proven successful and efficient for adding content to the system?
