Critical Research Practices@BU: Faculty, Librarians, and Camtasia, Too
by Bern Mulligan and Kate Bouman
Abstract
In Fall 2005, a committee was created to address some of the instructional issues associated with the critical research practices of BU students. The committee consisted of four librarians, three teaching faculty, and one graduate student. A survey of teaching faculty and teaching assistants was developed and conducted in Fall 2006. From this survey, several problem areas were identified. To address one of the areas identified in the survey, two tutorials were developed using "Camtasia" software and were piloted by two teaching faculty members this semester. We will discuss the survey, share some of our findings, and demonstrate a tutorial.
No handouts were given.
